2021 Polls: FDC MP Otto predicts M7 win, says Bobi is very popular but amateur

By Francis Otucu

Aruu County Member of Parliament has described his Kyandondo East counterpart, Robert Kyagulanyi Ssentamu aka Bobi Wine as an amateur, who is not yet ready to be President.

“I had a one-on-one with Bobi Wine. I wanted to know what was in his mind. I think he isn’t ready to be President. We talked monetary policy, physical policy to see whether would go left or right. I asked what he would for the pharmaceutical industry (personally, if I were President, I would close private pharmacies, pay all doctors Shs20m and make government hospitals viable. Government can’t compete with private). He can’t even see either side. He was only telling me, mobile money tax will raise Shs32bn, that 32bn we are using to pay the elderly in the districts, doesn’t it make sense? So, he doesn’t click. It doesn’t make sense to him, all these things,” he said while appearing on local TV program Monday morning.

To this, Odonga said Bobi Wine is an amateur politician. “He is a complete amateur and it is a very risky business for anyone to think Bobi Wine can be President but the fact is, he is very popular,” he said.

Responding to the question of who will emerge winner after 2021 presidential polls, the argumentative Aruu MP said President Yoweri Museveni will be declared winner.

“If I place a barometer on the ground, President Museveni will rig election massively (rigging isn’t about ticking). In my village, DISOs, RDCs and all are deployed. Rigging isn’t actual ticking. So, I see him (Museveni) declared winner, I am not saying, I see him winning. Status quo will continue. Bobi Wine will put a stiff resistance,” he noted adding, “He seemed to have not learned from Besigye. He is doing the same thing Besigye did. It’s not a nice thing but he needs to be encouraged.”
