There was a moment of drama and show of political intolerance when US House Speaker of Congress Nancy Pelosi tore her piece of the State of the Nation Address presented by President Donald Trump.
Ms. Pelosi is an outstanding critic of the President and has been leading a drive to have him thrown out of the White House for allegedly compromising the security of the US, when he allegedly used his office to ‘fix’ former Vice President Joe Biden, linking him to corruption activities in Croatia.
But, the US Senate with majority Republicans seems to be hell bent on absolving Trump of any complicity in compromising national security despite the lower House that is dominated by Democrats having impeached him in December, 2019.
In his speech to Congress President Trump hailed the “great American comeback” and made a case for his re-election, occasionally taking a jibe at the Democrats.
The US goes to the polls in November this year, and Trump seems to be focusing on re-election for a second term.
