The police have arrested, Janet Nakikose, in connection to theft of three babies stolen from Rubaga Mission Hospital in Kamuli district.
According to police, a probe linked her to theft of 3 babies from different mothers.
This, investigators say occurred February 19, 2020 at 9pm.
The victims include a baby girl of 4 weeks and a baby boy of 3 weeks.
“She pretended to be a caretaker and took advantage of darkness after power went off, to steal the two babies. She was tracked down and arrested from her home in Buyaga Village, Buyende District with the two babies. She admitted to stealing the babies to save her marriage with a man friend called Waiswa,” Polly Namaye, Deputy Police spokesperson said.
Earlier, she deceived Waiswa that she was pregnant and staying in Kamuli and that has 8 children from her former marriage, but had failed to give a child to Waiswa.
