Key strategists; Clovis Mawanda and Mzee Bwanika have quit accountability pressure group, Sauti Ya Vijana, this news site exclusively reports.
Well-placed sources say Mawanda and Bwanika stepped off as Chairman and Director Operations respectively, days ago, positions they held since the group’s inception in 2015.
Mawanda confirmed stepping down in a comment.
“I realized I am not in the youth age bracket anymore, so had Bwanika. I am very proud of the great milestone we achieved together as a group amidst the many challenges,” Mawanda said.
He added, “We wanted to set a precedence that it’s always a good gesture to handover the mantle of leadership to the next breed of leaders.”
Mawanda said the group’s National Executive Committee is currently interviewing candidates to fill the two positions.
In the interim period, Mawanda said, Peter Mukiibi and Isaac Galandi have taken up offices of Chairman and Director Operations respectively, in acting capacities.
