Kampala’s marketing and PR honcho, Amon Baita, is in things.
Irrefutable sources say, Baita, has formally joined Premier Recruitment Ltd, a firm owned by property mogul, Sudhir Ruparelia, as Head of Marketing, Public Relations and Activations.
His new job, insiders say, followed an intense road to Ruparelia Group of Companies top job, given a series of interviews.
Whereas Baita is yet to return our WhatsApp messages, an excited Baita posted a cut-out of his offer letter on all his social media platforms: “Ya’ll can now wish me a successful and impactful stay at my new address as in charge of marketing, Pr & Activations, Let’s do this!”
Baita is a graduate of Mass communication from Kampala International University (KIU) and has a wealth of experience.
He boasts of over 10 years’ experience in Sales and media marketing (Advertising and Public relations) having worked with legendary tabloid, The Red Pepper, in various capacities, first as a reporter shortly after university, a sales agent in the advertising department and later, as a section sales manager (SMES) before calling it quits in 2017 to focus on career development as a Public relations’ consultant and private business.
Baita, is also a co-media owner. He co-owns business online publication, The Business Focus ( www.businessfocus.co.ug) which he started with his former Namanve colleagues. Being a boss at The Business Focus, he has used the publication to do Pr and marketing consultancy for various companies in town. For example, he does constancy works for Muyenga based Middle East Consultants, a labor export giant. Last year, headlined the launch of a new annual event dubbed “Social media festival’’, as head of marketing. The annual event, with last year’s held at the Silver Springs Hotel, Bugolobi, is an initiative of The Business Focus. Insiders say the event was a sell-out. Top brands; Tusker Light, Uganda Communications Commission (UCC), Ruparelia Group, Next Media, Infinix and NITA-U among others joined in as sponsors. It is here that sources say he heavily encountered Ruparelia Group of Companies.
On top of marketing and PR, Baita is a framer. He owns huge farms in Nakasongola, Mubende and Kyangwari under “Ukulima Cooperative society’’ that is attached to Ministry of Defense and Veterans Affairs (MoDVA).
His new employer, Premier Recruitment Company, is a human resource consultancy firm under Rupaleria Group. It deals in both internal and external recruitment. Insiders say the company’s Director, Rajiv Rupaleria (RR), has tasked Baita to recruit and increase numbers of candidates in external wing and ensure company’s visibility across the country.
Close sources at Crane Chambers, who could not authoritatively disclose Baita’s expected pay cheque told us that he was hired along with Rehema Nakiryowa as an Agents’ manager, in charge of building agents structure, countrywide. Nakiyowa reportedly has a background in sales (banking and insurance) from Exim bank and ICEA Insurance Company respectively, commands good knowledge of agents system.
However, with the pair’s new employer being SR, the pay cheque could be admirable.
