Minister Baryomunsi tasks management of StarTimes to extend its services countrywide

The Minister for ICT and national guidance has tasked management of startimes to extend its satellite TV services countrywide. 
 Minister Baryomunsi noted that once the country is connected to satellite Tv, this would easy access to vital information.

Speaking at the completion ceremony of access to satellite Tv for 10,000 Africa villages phase two of Uganda, Dr.Chris Baryomunsi, urged management of startimes to connect the entire country on its startimes programs by coming up with more affordable packages.

Minister Baryomunsi,revealed that the government of Uganda is committed to continue partnering with that of China to offer startimes services to Ugandans and that this relationship is hoped to get more stronger than before.

H.E. Zhang Lizhong, the Chinese Ambassador to Uganda, said startimes services in Uganda is one of the fruits of the established diplomatic relationship between Uganda and China for the last 60years.

Bruce August, the Chief executive officer (CEO) Startimes, revealed that startimes has completed connections to over 9000 villages and pledged to extend its services to the remaining villages in the country.

Schalastica Najjembe Baguma for its tireless efforts to extend its satellite network to hard to reach villages in the country.
It should be noted that the second phase of access to satellite TV for 10000 African villages was launched in July 2018 and has  come to an end this month. Initially, the second phase had 8,000 households but currently the beneficiaries are at 1million people.
