The Deputy Director Civil Military Cooperation at the Special Forces Command (SFC) unit, has called on all stakeholders to engage in social corporate responsibility so as to give back to the community.
The UPDF Chief says as a way of giving back to the community, the Uganda People’s Defence Forces (UPDF) has cleaned market places in Entebbe on top of offering free medical services to locals in commemoration of Tarehe sita which is held on 6th February every year.
While conducting the cleaning exercise in Entebbe, Lt. Col. Moses Musinguzi, and the Deputy Director Military Cooperation, said since the UPDF is pro-people, it deemed necessary to give back to locals by conducting clean up exercise in addition to offering free medical services to locals.
Lt.Col. Musinguzi noted that the UPDF is committed to working together with locals so as to promote good health and sanitation.
On the other hand, Lt.Col. Dr. Aska Twinonuhungiro, the Director medical services at the Uganda People’s Defence Airforce (UPDAF), said as the UPDF celebrated 42years since it launched its military struggle which saw the overthrow of the Obote’s Government, it was deemed necessary for the UPDF medical team to render free treatment to locals as one of the fruits of the liberation struggle.
