Emorimor hands over Dakasi Uhuru Cup trophy to Pallisa TC FC

The Iteso cultural union  leader Emorimor Paul sande Emolot over the weekend  handed Uhuru cup competed with various clubs from the eight sub counties in Pallisa county, Pallisa district to the winners, Pallisa town council after they beat Kasodo sub county 2:1.

Emorimor who was the chief guest in the tournament final organized by a renowned lawyer Herbert Dakasi. He said football is one of the most loved sports  internationally and that there is a need to invest in it.

“Football brings unity. Let people make new friends and also leads  others to identify  their talents from  which  they will earn from. I encourage other people including leaders to emulate Dakasi and  promote this lovely sport,” Sande said.

He said though he had gone to Busia to celebrate the 62nd independence function, he had to come to Pallisa in respect to the invitation of his son, Dakasi.

Dakasi said he has so far invested Shs 94 million in the tournament. This went into buying balls, uniforms, transportation of teams, officials trophy, medals and security.

“I thank Papa Emorimor and his team for coming and also the teams for showing good discipline. It is not football that I promote but others as well which include netball. biking and indoor games,” Dakasi said.

Dakasi said he intends to contest for Pallisa county member of parliament when the whistle for NRM primaries is blown after the road map is officially released by the party’s electoral commission .

Ali Galya, the chairperson organizing committee, said the tournament was for the sub counties of  Pallisa town council , Kamuge town council, Olok, Boliso1, Putiputi , Pallisa , Kamuge  and Kasodo..

Galya said the matches have been on right from September as players were selected from village to make a sub county team.

Solomon Mudangha, the tournament tactician  paraded the teams before Papa Emorimor. Mudangha said all the teams were to get 200, 000 each and individually 100,000 was given  best keeper, player disciplined team, referees and youngest player.

However, from the fourth to the winners got 750,000/-, 1,000,000/-2,000,000 and 3,000,000/- respectively.

All the top four teams  received their share.

Max Okiria lauded Dakasi for being smart in the manner he does his ground work and calculates his unlike some abusive leaders who utter whatever comes to their lips which affects their integrity.
