Namilyango Alumni commended for supporting their College

The Alumni of Namilyango College have been commended for giving back to their former school and urged to support the College Strategic plan 2023/2033 which aims at ensuring that the students acquire high quality education.                                                                                           

 The appeal has been made by the College chairman board of governors Fr. Dr. Joachim Mugalu during an exclusive interview urged all Alumni and   stakeholders  to support the effective implementation of their 10 -year strategic plan 2023/2033 if the college set development agenda was to bear fruition.

He pointed out that the Alumni are a critical mass of people who can support the general development agenda of the college once reminded of their roles and responsibility.

He highlighted  some of the objectives including  offering high quality education based on Catholic values and principles, and expanding the capacity of the existing educational and accommodation structures.

Others are to renovate and update the aged infrastructure as well as to enhance the ICT resources and facilities to match the needs of a

Modern College.

‘It is our hope that the actualization of these goals will enhance the realization and perpetuation of the College Mission which is to provide Education for Responsibility’ Dr Mugalu noted.

Namilyango College is committed to continue nurturing such agents of hope for the society of today and these young people are the flag bearers of the Nation’s progress into the constantly changing global community  who also remain  the symbol and concretization of hope’ he observed.

Better standards of living and aspiration of many countries in the global south are hardly achievable without empowering the young people with appropriate education and skills.

It is the responsibility of society or their country, to suitably equip its hope bearers with the qualifications and tools they need in the fulfillment of their mission.

He pointed out that the New Curriculum, which was recently introduced by the Ministry of Education is an ideal tool for enhancing the creative and hence productive capacity of the young population in the educational institutions.

The College who’s Alumni have been and are resourceful members of society, is continuously aware of the obligation of adequately empowering the young learners so that they may be future agents of hope.

He commended the archbishop of Kampala archdiocese   Dr. Paul Ssemogerere for accepting to grace at the college’s 123 year mass which happened 22 March 2025 at which he preached for peace, tranquility, hard work and unity among all the people, noting that the messages was well taken by the stakeholders present including students, parents, the Alumni and friends of the college alike.

The theme for the Namilyango Day 2025 was ‘Sow generously and you will reap generously’ 2 Corinthians 9.6.

Mugalu also thanked the government through the chief guest of the day Col [Rtd] Tom Butime the minister of tourism wild life and Antiquities for honoring their invitation saying the college would continue to work with all stakeholders both within government and private sector to ensure that they delivered quality education to the student population.
