Abdallah Difee, a resident of Mayempe Ward in Sironko Town Council, Sironko District, held a consultative meeting today, April 23, 2025, as he eyes the position of NRM Chairperson for Sironko Town Council. The meeting aimed to seek the views and guidance of the NRM leadership in the area regarding his eligibility for the position.
NRM leaders from Sironko Town Council turned up in large numbers to attend the meeting.
Mr. Difee explained that his intentions were not to create conflict, but rather to seek direction and endorsement from the party leaders as he aspires to serve as their next chairperson.
He extended his gratitude to the incumbent NRM Chairperson, who has served the people of Sironko Town Council for the past fifteen years.
Mr. Difee remarked that it is time for a leadership transition, pledging to revitalize and inject new energy into the ruling party at the town council level.
“I have not come to fight anyone. I want to unite the NRM members and mobilize more support for our party,” Difee said. “I want the NRM to gain momentum and become stronger than ever before.”
The NRM leaders in attendance commended Mr. Difee’s vision and passion for the party. They expressed dissatisfaction with the incumbent’s long tenure, noting that he had never convened such a meeting in his fifteen years of leadership.
They further criticized the incumbent for failing to mobilize support for NRM flag bearers, accusing him of backing opposition or independent candidates instead.
“We have been lacking a leader who truly loves and connects with the people,” said one of the leaders. “With Abdallah Difee, the party will regain its vibrancy and strength in Sironko Town Council.”
In a show of unity, the NRM leaders unanimously endorsed Mr. Abdallah Difee as the sole candidate for the position of NRM Chairperson for Sironko Town Council.
In his closing remarks, Mr. Difee thanked the NRM leaders for their endorsement and promised to serve both the party and the people of Sironko Town Council with dedication and integrity.
