Man Buys Own Funeral Items, Arrested

The Central Police Station in Gulu is holding Charles Orom of Ongako sub county for attempting to commit suicide.

Local Council I Chairperson of Lamin-Lawino, Kal Village reported that Orom had had among others procured a coffin, four bags of posho, 50 kilograms of beans, 25 kilograms of sugar, three liters of cooking oil and set his funeral arrangement.

Regional Police spokesperson Jimmy Patrick Okema confirmed the matter, and said the items had been picked by detectives while Orom is being held at Ongako Police Station.

“We went to the scene with LC III of Ongako Sub COunty and picked those items to police. He will be charged with attempting to commit suicide,” Okema said.

The matter is being handled Vide SD 09/01/03/ 2019.
