The police are keeping six animals at Kiwangala Police Station as they wait for their owners.
The cows, six in number were recovered on Tuesday night along Kiwangala-Kalisizo raod after officers attached to Kiwangala intercepted suspected thieves.
They however fled leaving the animals behind.
Regional Police spokesperson Lameck Kigozi confirmed recovery of the animals.
He explained that: “Our officers attached to Kiwangala Police Station intercepted a group of people moving animals in a suspicious manner. When police stopped them, they fled and left the animals behind, an act which caused suspicion that the animals could have been stolen.”
The police are now expected to seek orders of court so as to dispose of the animal as the police station does not have any holding grounds for the said animals.
