Gender Minister writes to Dokolo MPs Over UWEP, YLP

By Francis Otucu

In her letter dated April 17, 2019, Gender, Labor and Social Development Minister Janat Mukwaya said she will be in Dokolo between May 6, 2019 and May 7, 2019 to carry out field visits and hold stakeholder meeting.

Her visit, she explains, is to assess the implementation of Uganda Women Entrepreneurship Programme (UWEP) and Youth Livelihood Programme.

“…I will be visiting Dokolo district to assess the implementation of the above programmes and hold strategic meetings with both political and administrative leadership in the district,” the letter copied to Cecilia Ogwal (Dokolo Woman MP), Felix Okot Ogong (Dokolo South) and Paul Amoru (Dokolo North) reads in part.

“The purpose of this letter is to inform you about this exercise/visit and to invite you to participate,” the letter adds.

Ministry of Gender is currently implementing UWEP and Youth Livelihood programmes in all local authorities in Uganda with the aim of empowering Ugandan women and youth for entrepreneurship development, improve their income, and contribute to the economic development of Uganda.
