Bobi Wine demands RDC arrest after People Power mobilizer shooting

In a statement Thursday, MP Robert Kyagulanyi alias Bobi Wine who is identical to People Power pressure group said while he condemned the shooting officer, he said the RDC on whose orders he said Moses Okot Jr was shot should be arrested.

“While we condemn the officer who carried out this heinous crime, we shall demand that the RDC on whose orders he acted is also apprehended, questioned and punished,” he said.

He added that often times ‘bosses’ in such incidents are left at large yet it is on their orders that their junior operate.

He described such acts as injustice and impunity.

“When they carry out those orders and things backfire, it is only those junior officers who are arrested and punished- of course for window dressing. The bosses who gave those orders are left to roam around as if they did nothing wrong- and of course continue to commit other crimes,” he added.

Kyagulanyi urged his supporters to endure the situation if their struggle is to endure.

“Comrades, I assure you that these are trials and tribulations we must endure, if we are to redeem our nation,” he said.

Okot was shot at 2am on Wednesday by No. Private RA 241999 Moses Tumukunde reportedly on orders of RDC-Amolatar, Liian Eyal on grounds that the victim was mobilizing people for a People Power meeting.

Tumukunde is said to have shot Okot several times on the right leg.

Okot is currently undergoing treatment at Kumi Hospital.
