The police at Ntinda Police Station are holding four people including the suspect in the murder of Alex Otula a few minutes past midnight Sunday morning.
The suspects have been identified as Ronald Sasaji, 29, Eritrean Finmond Gebremicha, 26, and killer woman, Irene Apio Akello, 24.
Deputy Kampala Metropolitan Police spokesman Luke Owoyesigyire confirmes arrest.
Probed why the arrest of hotel workers, he said it was too early to divulge details into the matter arguing that doing so would jeopardize investigations.
However, we have understood that the hotel staff were arrested on the basis of negligence.
That either they did not check Apio Akello to ascertain what she had in her bag or they availed a knife to her.
THE MURDER
At around 00:20am, Ntinda Police Station received a phone call from Joel Kedi, a local area official alerting them of murder by stabbing of Otula.
Otula had been stabbed five times in the check from his back on Second Floor, Room at Top Five Hotel.
The officers, already charged reached just minutes after the call on a pick up truck registration number UP 2565 Vide SD 02/09/06/2019.
Otula was found lying in a pool of blood, lifeless.
Fresh stab wounds were visible.
There were however signs of scuffles in the room.
The properties were scattered.
There was alcohol and food on the table, presumed to be for the deceaased
The knife suspected to have been used for stabbing was recovered in flower pot next to the door. It is being treated as exhibit.
His body was later taken to City mortuary for postmortem.
Akello has meanwhile confessed to have killed Otula, accidentally.
The motive of the act remains unestablished.
Sources though say the pair had marital problems.
