The Police at the Central Police Station in Kampala are holding one person in connection with armed robberies in the city and its neighborhoods.
Stanley Mulunda was arrested after intelligence-led operation at his rented house at Masanafu near the Kampala northern bypass.
His accomplice, Richard Kasirye fled during a fire exchange that left an officer injured in the leg.
Kampala Metropolitan Police spokesman Patrick Onyango confirmed the incident.
One number plate (UAM 046J), thirty live ammunitions, two magazines, two SMG guns, court documents and a hammer were retrieved from his house.
Onyango said a big reward awaits any member of the public with valuable information leading to arrest of Kasirye.
