John Bosco Mugisha, alias Mukiga, a man suspected to be one of those seen in a CCTV video strangling a boda boda rider in Kampala has spoken out following his Tuesday arrested.
Mukiga, harvested from at Ndeeba, in Rubaga Division, following a tip-off said his colleague was finished off by mob in another robbery attempt.
“Young Mulo (not artist) was killed by the mob on July 3, on suspicion we stolen a motorcycle,” Mukiga told police adding, “We robbed a motorcycle from Mityana on 2/7/2019 and they traced us up to Makindye in Kampala, where the mob killed him. I escaped that day and went to Kabale.”
Mukiga’s confession is captured in a Kampala Metropolitan Police statement issued Wednesday.
He also confessed to the killing.
Mukiga is currently detained at Katwe Police Division pending his transfer to Old Kampala Police Division.
Mukiga and his ‘dead friend’ are accused of murdering Derrick Mulindwa on June 30, 2019 at Kakeeka, Lubaga division, an incident that was captured in a neighboring CCTV camera before the footage went viral on social media.
