6 arrested as Nyanzi gets 18 months, 2nd Christmas in Luzira

Six supporters of jailed ex-Makerere University researcher, Dr. Stella Nyanzi have reportedly been arrested and driven to an unidentified location.

They have been identified by FDC officials as Augustine Ojobile, Waisswa Abdallah, Joel Kabali, Simon Wanyera, Fatumah Abenabyo and Moses Katumba.

They were reportedly clad in FDC color when they were arrested.

This is said to have happened soon as Nyanzi was given 18 months in jail for  harassing President Yoweri Museveni and insulting his late mother on social media.

The magistrate, Gladys Kamasanyu said that a 18-month jail term would be sufficient for her, but since she has already spent nine month on remand, she will now be in Luzira prison for the next nine months.
