The police in Mukono are investigating circumstances under which an Italian businessman reportedly shot self dead. The incident that ended the life of Piuluigi Riulliano Beni, 72 happened at his residence in Bulaga Island in Mukono district.
Deputy Kampala Metropolitan Police spokesman, Luke Owoyesigyire told an online publication, SpyReports that the police are investigating possible suicide.
“We are still investigating what could have sparked off own shooting,” Owoyesigyire said.
His immediate neighbors revealed to police that the Italian businessman first shot in the air before killing himself.
Owoyesigire noted that the deceased had duo citizen ship of Italy and Uganda, according to his passport.
Police sources said the deceased was frustrated after his construction company run bankrupt due to mismanagement.
Owoyesigire said the police have notified the Italian embassy but that his body is at the city mortuary for postmortem.
