Grandson kills granny over Shs200, 000 maize cash

The Police at Kiyuni Police Station in Mubende are investigating circumstances under which an 82-year-old woman was killed by a criminal gang led by her grandson.

Federesi Bukilwa, a resident of Butumi in Kiyuni, Mubende district was killed at 6pm on Thursday.

Preliminary probe shows that the deceased had a land wrangle with her grandson, a one Sewante.

Investigators say using that background, Sewante and his accomplices, having got information that their victim had sold maize worth Shs200, 000; they attacked her, ending her life in the process.

The police say the crime scene was visited upon a tip-of, examined, two arrested, some exhibits retrieved and the body taken to Mubende Regional Referral Hospital pending postmortem and collection by the relatives for burial.
