Proprietors of Block 308, Singo in Kassanda district were Firday shocked to learn that a wanted man in the killing of a resident of Bukome, Kyakatebe, Nalutuntu Sub-County in Kassanda district attended a meeting convened by Lands Minister Bettey Amongi.
This, a day, after Wamala Regional Police Commander, Bob Kagarura told this news site that the suspects in the hacking and eventual killing of Everesto Bizimungu had scattered into tycoon Abid Alam’s sugar plantation to evade arrest.
However, Ismail Nassif, a suspect in his killing showed up with Abid for dialogue at Ministry of Lands boardroom, attended the meeting and left at leisure.
According to Agnes Nyiraguhirwa, the wife to Bizimungu, she saw Nassif among those who attacked her husband on October 6, 2019.
“My husband, our children and I were in the garden on Sunday morning when they attacked us. They singled him (my husband) out, chased and cut him several times using a panga,” she said, tearing.
Bizimungu was rushed to Hope Clinic, Kyakatebe and later Mubende Regional Referral Hospital from where he succumbed to injuries inflicted on him by Abid’s aides.
The matter in which Nassif is wanted is registered Vide CRB 550/2019 (unlawful wounding) of Kakungube Police Station.
