2021 POLLS: Museveni expected as Ex-MPs launch alumni association, seek Shs100m each

Former Members of Parliament are Wednesday expected to launch an alumni association at a high-end event at Silver Springs Hotel in Kampala.

President Yoweri Museveni is expected as Chief Guest.

Well-placed sources say the ex-lawmakers, under their umbrella body, Parliamentary Alumni Uganda (PAU) want to contest again, and through the association, they are seeking Shs100 each ahead of 2021 general polls.

Against the above background, they invited Museveni to possibly show commitment.

Insiders say the former legislators total 450 and have a wealth of prominence including former Prime Minister and Presidential contender, John Patrick Amama Mbabazi.
