The father of Uganda Cranes captain Denis Onyango has passed. Reports say Gabriel Onyango succumbed to cancer on Tuesday evening.
The Federation of Uganda Football Association (FUFA) in the condolence message says: “FUFA is deeply saddened by the news of Mzee Gabriel Onyango father of Uganda Cranes Captain Masinde Onyango who succumbed to cancer on Tuesday evening. Our thoughts and prayers are with Denis and family. May Mzee’s soul Rest In Eternal Peace.”
There will be Mass on Wed 23/10/2019 2PM in Ndejje, Zanta
zone.
Burial on Thursday 24/10/ 2019 at 2 PM in Butangazi-Buduri- Majanja Road 8
miles out of Busia town.
Meanwhile the official launch of the 2021 AFCON campaign has taken place at FUFA House in Mengo, Kampala.
The Uganda Cranes will fly to Ouagadougou for the opening Group B of AFCON2021 against Burkina Faso on November 12, 2019 aboard a chartered Uganda Airlines and return for the return leg against Malawi scheduled for November 17, 2019. Uganda will also play neighbor South Sudan in the same group.
Fans will to travel to Burkina Faso with the team will part with US$1500.
