Kyabazainga Visits Kamuli Progressive College.

The Kyabazanga of Busoga Isebantu William Wilber Force Naiope Gabula Kadhumula IV, was the chief celebrant when Kamuli Progressive was celebrating 30 years anniversary.  Kamuli progressive college started 30 years ago in 1995 by three young men then . Ntende Johnson, Wambi Wilber and Otim Geoffrey.

The Kyabazinga thanked the director and school administration for the developments at school. He was grateful for parents playing their role for their children to stay in school.

“Please stay focused on your studies. Parents let us join hands to fight teanage pregnancy and early marriages. We should fight the traditional enemies as our Busoga anthem says i.e. diseases, poverty and ignorance for Busoga to prosper.” Kyabazinga said.

Kyabazinga who was accampanied by Isabalangira of Bugabula BB Omulangira  Woira Kitimbo Paul, recommended Kamuli progressive College for fighting ignorance since 1995.

“From a humble beginning since 1995, Kamuli Progressive College has gone through a tremendous transformation. Kamuli Progressive College was born on 16/Jan/1995 in  a rented building  seated on a plot of  50ft x 80ft along Jinja road opposite the UCEDL power station. Today the school is proudly seated on 5 acres with permanent structures including a storeyed building.” Said Director Jonhson Ntende

Arrival of the Kyabazinga  at Kamuli Progressive College.

The school which is found in Soroti zone, Mandwa ward, Southern Division Kamuli Municipality in Kamuli district, opened with a population of 210 students, today the current population stands  at 1,372 from all the corners of Uganda. But what is most important Kamuli Progressive College ranks well with national education standards. In the last UNEB UCE results (2024) under the new curriculum, we were ranked in the 1st position in Kamuli district, Busoga kingdom we took position number 10. And at national level we took position number 150 out of over 4000 schools in Uganda.

On his arrival, the Kyabazinga commissioned a new girls’ hostel named after the Inhebantu of Busoga ‘Inhebantu Joviva Mutesi’.  He inspected various projects bone at school spearheaded by IOWA state university which included the Agriculture skilling centre for urban farming, Tailoring project , Chicken rearing, Rabit project, Black flies farming and production, Fish farming, the entreprenuership club and canteen.

The government,  has been so supportive. It  has provided scholastic materials, guiding in the implementation of the new curriculum and not forgetting the financial support we used to get while we were under the Universal Secondary Education programme (USE), we are grateful.

“The 30 years celebration was under a theme  “Enabling the teenagers to achieve their full potential.” We believe that this theme will enble us to education and mentorship support to our learners in this Competency Based Curriculum.” Said the head teacher Mr. Ngobi Charles.

The Kyabazinga  thanked the educational partners at Kamuli progressive College for promoting the girl and needy child namely; Hearts & Hope, legacy for Jesus, Buganga CDC, Crusform, Endasi Foundation, Compassion and Maria’s care

The school has achieved tremendous achievements like Excelling in UNEB S.4 exams 2024, Implementing the patriotism program, Emerging champions of Kamuli Annual Patriotism-IOWA state university Youth Institute debate and research completions, and promoting students’ talents through Music Dance and Drama, sports and games among others.
