As Uganda’s 2021 general election nears, there is talk of which presidential candidates has which support and where.
A few of these candidates have already been labeled regional candidates, given the regions they come from.
In a tweeter exchange Monday, journalist and lawyer, Ivan Okuda, engaged ICT State Minister, Peter Ogwang, on political presence in Teso.
However, in response, Ogwang who doubles as Usuk County Member of Parliament said there is no People Power presence in Teso. People Power is identical to presidential aspirant, Robert Kyagulanyi, of the National Unity Platform (NUP) party.
Ogwang singled out Forum for Democratic Change (FDC)’s Patrick Oboi Amuriat, whom he said, is not any closer to winning the January 14, 2021 presidential race.
Emorimor is the title of Teso cultural Chief and the office bearer is elected by a council formed by two clan leaders from each parish and sub-county in the Teso districts after every five-year term.
