
8 in the presidential race as EC closes Nomination, Katumba Oye, Henry Byamukama and other 30 Rejected.

The forum For Democratic Change (FDC) candidate James Nathan Nandala Mafabi, 59, NUP’s Robert Sentamu Kyagulanyi alias Bobi wine and ANT’s Gen. Gregory Mugisha Muntu were September 24,2025, nominated officially by the Electoral Commission for the position of President of the Republic of Uganda. They have joined NRM’s Yoweri Kaguta Museveni ,CP’s Elton Joseph Mabirizi and Robert Kasibante of peasant’s party.

Others nominated were Munyagwa Mubarak ( Common Man’s Party and Bulira Frank Kabinga Revolutionary Peoples party
Mafabi was successfully nominated on Wednesday, 24th September 2025 at the new EC Grounds in Lweza – Lubowa along Entebbe Road at 10am, followed by Mugisha Muntu at 1pm and later in the afternoon Robert Sentamu Kyagulanyi alias Bobi wine at 2pm.

Justice Simon Byabakama Mugenyi told the press that the trio was nominated today after having satisfied all the electoral requirements for a presidential candidate.
Mafabi was accompanied by the wife Florence Mafabi, FDC die-hards Jack Sabiiti, Patrick Amuriat Oboi and others. Bobi was accompanied by his wife Babie, Leader of opposition Joseph Senyonyi among other NUP top officials. While Mugisha Muntu was too accompanied by his top party officials from ANT led by Casiano Wadri.

In his first message upon his successful nomination presidential hopeful Nathan Nandala Mafabi told the media:
” I want to thank the people of Budadiri West for having given me the mandate to represent them in Parliament for the last 25 years. I am a servant you can rely on. The agricultural sector will have 10% of the national budget. I plan 100,000,000 per Parish every year. I want to boost sports in the country, ” Mr. Nandala Mafabi pledged to uplift the livelihood of Ugandans.’

On the other hand, Robert Sentamu Kyagulanyi alias Bobi Wine, pledged to fix the bad leadership in the country saying it has reduced Ugandans to being beggars in their home Country. He also decried of the continued detention of his supporters revealing that some of them went missing till today and their whereabouts is still an unknown.

He vowed to continue with his protest vote which he believes will deliver Ugandans from the claws of alleged dictatorial regime.
