Police officer arrested in robbery after signing for gun

The police are holding their own after he was arrested in a foiled robbery. The incident happened at 1am on Friday morning at Bukali village, Buwoya parish, Buwoya sub-county in Buvuma district.

Well-placed sources have told us that PC Otto, attached to Buvuma Central Police Station was arrested following a shooting at the home of Samuel Yuha, a businessman in the area. Yuha survived with injuries.

“PC Otto was not on pass and he had signed for a gun. He was arrested this morning in Mayuge where he had gone. Following his arrest, he claimed that he had left the gun inside his house. Upon a search, the same gun was missing from his house,” a source said. Police detectives have retrieved seven cartridges from the scene.

Police sources say the victim is admitted at Jinja Main Hospital while Otto has been driven back to Buvuma where he is currently being detailed.
