From Grass…“Grass” means a place of nothing but out of Grass, Lira‘s born based scribe and orphan Patrick Ogwang has his dreams come true and also the saying has become more real and evident.
The scribe cum businessman now sells Uganda’s Agricultural produce to the world market mainly Dubai and European countries.
Who is Patrick Ogwang
Born in Bale sub county current Kole district formerly Lira , Ogwang lost his two parents to Lord’s Resistance Army (LRA) of Joseph Kony but later was picked by his uncle who paid for his Education in Kampala.
According to information, when Ogwang studied and grew up with his uncle in Kampala, it helped him a lot to position himself and connect with people who matter about his life progress.
“Kampala life helped me a lot on what I could call social capital , I was connected easily to people who matter , people who value human face , this led me to reach out to friends from overseas who came with good ideas of export of Agricultural produce to United Arab Emirates (UAE), Qater, Turkey and many other European countries” Ogwang sounded.
Business Deal
Ogwang teamed up with two other partners and registered the TBE import and export company that deals in buying fresh produce from the Pearl of , and other outside countries.
The main products that Ogwang’s TBE Import and Export company buys are fresh Pineapples, Avocado, Chilli, passion fruit among others and sell them overseas.
Patrick Ogwang is the Executive director operations , TBE is an Export and Import company whose activities span the entire supply chain specializing in global trading.
They link Ugandan farmers to the wholesale and retail operations in Europe, America, Australia and the Middle East.
The Company buys the best high-quality products in line with the world clients’ specifications from a select pool of farmers.
Items are subjected to products that require processing to state-of-the-art processing facilities that are ISO certified for supply to world class clients.
The company also exports high quality Uganda products from our network of farmers and processed at the best facilities to any part of the world.
The young tycoon intimated that he never looked for handouts during his journalistic work but was able to work hard as he positioned himself with people who matter and value human face for connections and networking.
Russian –Ukraine war and the coffee deal
According to sources of information the TBE Import and Export company had signed a deal to supply coffee worth over 2billion to Russia.
TBE was yet to deliver the coffee beans to Russia but was affected by the ongoing Russia Ukraine war.
Recently the company officials were sighted in Bugisu , Kabale and Central Buganda asking the coffee farmers who had picked the money to sell their coffee and wait until the situation between Russia and Ukraine normalizes.
