UMTA Convention Lauds Mbale SS Headmaster for Championing Muslims teachers’ transformation agenda

The leadership of the Uganda Muslim teachers Association [UMTA] during their 34th annual General meeting and convention have lauded the great work done by the headmaster of Mbale senior secondary school I supporting the Association development agenda.

The convention which met over the at Kawempe Muslim secondary school in Kampala in their resolutions appreciated the great of work done by Moses Buyela for being instrumental in offering both technical and logistical support towards the agenda of the UMTA body by way of sponsoring teachers to attend key Association regional and national calendar events.

The delegates through their president hajj Mpungu Musa Musoke described Buyela as being a man of such great character who should be appreciated for the noble work he is doing in support of the Association activities.

Buyela who was not present at the meeting later told this website in an exclusive interview from Mbale City that he was humbled by the gesture of appreciation saying supporting such activities adds value to the professional development agenda of UMTA and the education sector In general.

Mbale secondary school is the biggest government owned day school in the heart of Mbale City with a student population of 5,300 and a general staff of 297 were 225 are teachers while the rest are non teaching staff respectively according to Buyela.

He said the school is largely a science based Institution which recently dispatched a total of 16 government sponsored students heading to public universities with majority majoring in medicine.

They have been posted to Makerere, Mbarara University of Science and Technology [MUST], Gulu University and Busitema University respectively with the school being ranked nationally at 28th in sciences performance index Turning to the challenges they encounter, Buyela appealed to the government to support them with the infrastructure development as they lack adequate space for laboratory facilities and classrooms due to the large numbers of students.

We are a hardworking school which Is determined to continue offering an all inclusive education program to the students with a view of empowering them become future leaders of tomorrow's world, noted Buyela

He thanked the government for the technical and logistical support which had greatly contributed to their current positive academic performance indicator saying such recognition posture had energized them to work even harder to post better performance results in future.
