The Second Division of the army based in Mbarara, is mourning one of their own, following his death Friday morning.
Irrefutable sources say Maj. Mzee Juma Tuutu, 58, an Alur and OC 401 Brigade Rear succumbed to Covid-19.
According to his roommate Lt. J.K Tabo, the deceased struggled to breath in the night, before his death.
Upon visiting his room at 7am Friday morning, Tuutu had breathed his last.
Investigators say Tuutu was sleeping in bedroom while Tabo occupied the living room of the same building.
Following the death, impeccable sources say Maj. Fred Mushambo, the Division Intelligence boss ordered a probe in to the death.
While briefing Mushambo, Tabo, said signs leading to Tuutu’s death was synonymous with Covid-19.
Basing on this suspicion, Tuutu’s body was handled by medical experts and taken to Mbarara Regional Referal Hospital Isolation Unit for postmortem Vide Mbarara DEF 66/2020.
Whereas the official report is yet to be revealed, this news site understands the senior intelligence officer succumbed to the deadly Coronavirus.
