Following basketball legend, Kobe Bryant’s death Sunday, Capt. Mike Mukula tweeted Monday.
“Bad weather is the worst enemy of the aviation industry, aircraft’s and helicopters flying in bad weather risk serious disasters, as a flying instructor my message to my students was very clear >> AVOID BAD WEATHER”
This, hours, after Kobe, 41, and his 13-year-old daughter Gianna Maria Onore Bryant and seven others died in a helicopter crash in Calabasas, California.
Investigators were quick to say they are looking at the weather conditions.
The fog was so thick Sunday morning that the Los Angeles Police Department decided to ground its helicopters until late afternoon.
However, barely 24 hours after Mukula’s advice, a jet ranger belonging to the army crashed Tuesday morning in Butambala.
Pilot/Instructor, Maj. Naomi Karungi and Cadet Bernard Wakalu, the only crew died in the incident.
Whereas the army say investigations into the cause of accident is on, the incident is being linked to harsh weather conditions.
Parts of Kampala/Central Uganda and its neighborhood has Tuesday been cloudy.
There is possibility that fog played a role in causing the accident.
