By Francis Otucu

A joint security force is holding a body of a male adult (aged 30) after it, as part of cargo landed at Entebbe International Airport Monday evening.

The body, according to well-placed sources, is of Daniel Sebuliba who succumbed to COVID-19 pandemic in Qatar, days ago.

Health Ministry confirmed this in a statement Tuesday afternoon.

“Our Taskforce together with the team from Ministry of Health intercepted a body brought in the Country as Cargo from Dubai picked from the airport by APlus,” part of a statement from the Ministry of Health reads.

Security sources say the ‘cargo’ that came in from Dubai was set for burial in neighboring Mukono.

However, before the body could be loaded in an A-Plus Funeral van, security rushed in, before questioning particulars of the ‘cargo’.

A death certificate produced by the attendants confirmed that Sebuliba succumbed to COVID-19.

“We have quarantined all APlu crew at least for 14 days at our Isolation Centre. The death certificate relates to COVID 19,” the statement adds.

As a result of the contact with the cargo, its attendants have been quarantined.

“Please let’s continue to educate our masses on the danger and seriousness of this pandemic,” notes, the statement.

In his last address, President Yoweri Museveni said all bodies of COVID-19 victims will not be returned to Uganda but buried in countries they will have died.
