Julius Nakiyi, a professional auditor trading with Nakiyi and Partners has Thursday picked NRM nomination forms, formally showing interest in Budadiri East NRM flag ahead of 2021 Parliamentary polls.
“It is time for us to take our people to a better stage of life after a long time,” Nakiyi said after picking forms at Plot 13, Kyadondo Road, home of NRM Electoral Commission. He added, “After a long time of mobilization, now the beginning tool was achieved by officially picking the nomination papers to formally kickstart the journey.”
He said that his candidature is based on the need to infuse new energy in NRM and help carry forward the party ideology.
“I also want to restore new hope and confidence in our people of Budadiri East in leadership to know that they still have their sons and daughters who can keep their promises and deliver beyond expectations,” he added.
Nakiyi is to return forms on August 17, 2020 after acquiring the required signatures from NRM supporters.
He intimated to us that he wants to be the “General” of poverty alleviation in Budadiri East and pledged to organize farmers into former Unions or associations so that they can undertake collective bargaining, marketing and access to cheaper credits.
He said that he will provide required leadership to have visibility of supply chains for the farmer products so that they eliminate exploitation along supply value chain.
The Budadiri ‘young blood’ gave Nathan Nandala Mafabi trouble for the position of BCU chairman seat last year and insiders revealed that Nandala reportedly blocked his candidature on minor ground of not remitting coffee to BCU as required by the Union constitution.
He said that during his term of legislation in parliament, he will organize tomato farmers into groups so that they get value addition and quality control.
He advised the incumbent MP, Woboya Vincent to stop getting scared of the race in the digital era where the campaigns are set to be scientific and stop branding everyone who goes for media campaigns as abusing him.
“We have no time to abuse Woboya on Radios or other media platforms. The only time and issue I have is to wait and grab the NRM flag from him,” he roared.
