NRM POLLS: Bugisu King, Omukukha Drums Support For Mukula

By Nathan Ngobi

Sir Bob Mushikoli, the Bugisu cultural leader has called upon the delegate and National Resistance Movement leaders to consider re-electing retired flight captain, Capt. Mike Mukula as NRM National Vice Chairperson Eastern Region.

“I call upon all my subjects from all the 6 districts of Bugisu, the people of Teso and Sebei to convey their support to Capt. Mike Mukula so that he retains his seat as National Vice chairperson NRM Eastern region and above all, President Museveni to retain their NRM positions,” Sir Bob Mushikoli told the media at his senior quarters home, Mbale city.

Mushikoli made the call after a team from Capt. Mukula headed by Billy Manyifu, one of his personal aides visited the Omukukha to follow up on his health.

The Omukukha has been ill. However, he is recovering from the sickness after a long time stay at Nakasero Hospital, Kampala from where he was discharged recently.

However, shockingly, the team found that the Omukukha official car had been grounded for a long time and parked at his presidential palace.

GROUNDED: The Omukukha’s official car

The team reached out to Mukula who was ready on phone. The generous Mukula pledged to pay all the mechanical bills to see that the Cultural leader gets his transport van  back on the road.

According to Mushikoli, Capt. Mukula has for a long time been supportive to the Inzu cultural institution, created jobs for most people from the East and mostly, the Bamasaba have benefited a lot from Mukula’s tenure. To this, the Omukukha called the delegates voters to support Mukula’s bid.

Meanwhile, Capt. Mukula was in Palisa district Wednesday. Sources say he received overwhelming support from both the Itesots and Bagwere who vowed to continue supporting his position.

He received the same spirited support from Elgon region, Sebei, and Teso sub regions   in his recent visits, with  crowds,  chanting a ‘No change’ slogan, declaring him their sole candidate for the NRM National Vice chairperson Eastern Region.
