Kampala Metropolitan Police has Wednesday handed over recovered church items belonging to St. Peter’s Church of Uganda, Ndeeba to church leaders.
The items; music equipment, wall clocks, carpet, flat screens, keyboard, piano, bibles, hymns books and uniforms among others, were found locked at Ndeeba Junior Primary School, reportedly owned by businessman Dodovic Mwanje.
“The items had been locked in the school hall but when police tried to locate the person with the keys, he ran away and they had to break in as per the law,” KMP spokesman Patrick Onyango told this news site. No suspect was arrested in the premises while recovering the items, he revealed.
The said church was Sunday night demolished to pave way for construction of a two-level commercial building.
