Swangz Avenue Gives Situlago (Cheap), Mujooga (VIP) Options Ahead Bell Lager Roast & Rhyme Murchison Falls Edition

This December, 11 – 13, 2020, the Roast and Rhyme returns.

Dubbed ‘The Wild Roast & Rhyme’, given the destination is Murchison Falls National Game Park. Organized by Swangz Avenue and supported by Bell Lager, The Wild Roast and Rhyme is a meat and safari experience that will bring together lovers of meat, beer and music for a weekend of COVID-safe fun in one of Uganda’s most beautiful game parks.

Speaking Wednesday to officially announce the experience, Simon Lapyem, the UBL representative, said, “This year has been quite disruptive and lots of people need to take some time off to relax and unwind. This is yet another opportunity for Bell Lager to step up to the occasion and ensure that our consumers have a good time safely while enjoying the best that Uganda’s tourism and hospitality industry has to offer.”

He also stressed the fact that the organisers have put in place and will enforce the standard operating procedures (SOPs) put forward by the government and Ministry of Health to ensure attendees remain safe amid the global COVID-19 pandemic.

According to Layem, the wild experience is also one way pof giving back to the hospitality industry after the Covid-19 hit.

“The hospitality industry has been one of those that has been severely hit by the effects of the COVID-19 pandemic, and this is one way through which we are breathing life back into the sector and the economy while promoting domestic tourism,” he noted.

Julius Kyazze, CEO of Swangz Avenue, said the meat, beer and travel is about bringing people together.

“The Wild Roast and Rhyme has a similar identity as all the other editions – it’s about bringing people together for barbeques and live music performances with the added twist of the game park experience. This edition is another way to do that while getting away from the bustle of the city centre and enjoying the great outdoors,” Kyazze said.

Several accommodation offers are available for attendees to be part of the experience, ranging from “Situlago” for those opting for the cheaper camping experience to “Mujooga” for those who prefer the exclusive VIP experience, with all Details available on the Swangz Avenue and Bell Lager digital platforms.

According to the organizers, attendees will be divided to different groups beginning with travel trips and accommodation since different lodges have been booked in nearby areas from where each group will picked with different shuttles.

For example, travel arrangements have been made both by air and by road. For those who wish to travel by road, the bus is 100, 000 and departure is at National Theatre at 10:00am, while by air, partiers will be airlifted from Kololo airstrip at a cost of $600.

The festival will kick off December 11, 2020 with the ‘Bon Fyre Friday’ – an evening of spoken word, freestyle and poetry. On Saturday, attendees will be treated to a game drive through the national park, followed by the ‘Wild Reggae Nyam Nyam’, which will feature live performances from Uganda’s biggest artists.
