

Pallisa; The minister for presidency Milly Babalanda Babirye has appealed men to avoid spending their resources in worthless and wasteful investments like taking alcohol and prostitution.
Babalanda made the remarks at Kadengele village,Kamuge sub county, Pallisa district in the home of Lawrence Omulen, executive director of New plan surveys and engineering group during the celebration of lives of Right Reverend Anthony Zachary Rweza of Jinja diocese and archbishop Denis Lote Kiwanuka of Tororo who died on 15th June 2021 and 24th April 2022 respectively.
“Omulen is sober minded man who puts his resources to the benefit of the community and the church of God and I challenge others to emulate him because he has constructed multi-million St.Damian catholic church, improved on the lives of people by providing piped water to over 500 homes, electricity and graded roads that is why God rewards him.”
Babalanda said all people should contribute towards the activities of their churches other than leaving for the rich only.
“We have to thank president Museveni for ushering peace to Uganda which has enabled us to build our churches unlike in the past before NRM when the task was for the foreigners. Am a committed Christian who doesn’t miss church service every Saturday regardless of my busy schedule and president Museveni also knows that on Saturdays I attend church services,” added Babalanda.
On the fight of poverty at household’s level, Babalanda asked people to embrace and own Government programs such as youth livelihood, women’s Entrepreneurship and Parish Development Model (PDM).
“My office is open in case of anything just channel through the resident district commissioners of Pallisa and you are lucky to have such a hardworking RDC Majid Dhikusoka.
ArchBishop of Tororo archdiocese Dr.Emmanuel Obbo who was the main celebrant asked his congregation to love one another, build the spiritual development of children and always support the church programs.
“Omulen was brought in by the family of the late Damian Edakasi(RIP) who put God first in everything he did.”
The contributions of archbishop Kiwanuka and priest Rweza to the church are still felt. I thank the family of Lawrence and Zewe Omulen for organizing this function”, Bisho Obbo said.
His highness Emorimor Papa Iteso Paul Sande Emolot Otomeileng who graced the occasion crowded by Christian carols competition of catholic parishes which included Good shepherd Kotido,Lumino parish Tororo,St.John the Baptist Pallisa, Kamuge Olinga North, Kamuge Olinga South,Our lady of Fatima Gangama Mbale,St Damian Kadengele, Kibale, Butebo,Najeniti said he could not . miss the function given its unifying factor and promotion of cultural ties.
Omulen, who was overwhelmed with joy, thanked his guests and asked Babalanda to convey his greetings on behalf of the people of Pallisa to His Excellency President Yoweri Museveni.
“Tell him a small man from Pallisa applauds you; he knows few things I do with him”, Omulen said.
The celebration was attended by RDCs John Michael Okurut Nakapiripirit,Paul Mwiru Kalikwani of Butebo William Wilberforce Tukei of Kween, Caro Natongo deputy RDC Butebo and Majid Dhikusoka the Pallisa RDC the host.
