Housing Finance Bank has committed to continue supporting the country’s education sector.
The Bank’s Managing Director, Michael Mugabi, re-echoed the commitment at the 2023 NSSF Kampala Hills Run, an annual fun charity run with the objective of raising funds for public schools across the country.
“Beyond housing (Which we do best), we have come in to support education as part of our value addition, and as part of our agenda to develop this country. We recognize that the learners come from homes. We support that financing but beyond that financing, we also support education and the entire education value chain. We have a wide range of solutions that support the education sector. So, this activity gives us a fertile opportunity for us to work with like-minded partners, a cause to the development of this country,” Mugabi said.
He added that “each education touches all of us.”
“Each and all of you can do something to support the education sector in this country. We commit to support the education sector across the country, not only in Kampala. We have committed to be part of this cause for the foreseeable future.”
He appealed to participants for continued support.
“In your respective individual spaces, you surely can do something about education. Mentor, support in terms of school fees. The future of this country needs our support, and I believe you can do something to empower your children,” Mugabi noted.
The Acting NSSF Managing Director, Patrick Ayota, said yesterday that 8, 000 runners participated in this year’s run.
Shs 948 million was realized from the event, and will go towards supporting the needs in the education sector.
