Prominent Ugandans have come out to mourn fallen businessman, Apollo Nyegamehe alias Aponye.
Aponye died in a car crash in Itojo, Ntungamo in Western Uganda last evening.
In a tweet Friday, Odrek Rwabogo, described Aponye as “Soft spoken, often the quietest in meetings but the most committed.” “
According to Rwabogo, Aponye built a Biz from scratch and gave ‘entrepreneurship’ meaning in a young country.
Economist, Prof. Augustus Nuwagaba, says Aponye was a successful businessman and a remarkable individual who made significant contributions to the community.
“His entrepreneurial spirit, dedication, and vision have left a lasting impact on those who knew him. His legacy will continue to inspire and guide generations to come,” Prof. Nwagaba says.
Security Minister Maj. Gen. Jim Muhwezi says Aponye was a true titan of the industry, “and his contributions to our country will be remembered for generations to come.”
Thomas Tayebwa, the Deputy Speaker of the 11th parliament of Uganda knew Aponye as “the astitute businessman has been a mentor and father figure to many of us.”
