UWEC integrates Tiger Cubs with their parents after 8 months

By Francis Otucu

The Uganda Widlife Education Centre (UWEC) has successfully integrated tiger cubs with their parents after 8 months of promoting “natural behaviors and family bonds, ensuring the health and safety of all tigers involved.”

The Center says that the process involves preparing the environment, isolating the tigers, and introducing them using methods like visual and scent exposure, barrier interactions, and meetings with caretakers.

“It considers each tiger’s unique personality to ensure their well-being, safety, and mental stimulation,” UWEC said in a post on X.

The integration is expected to further grow the number of tigers at the center in a bid to improve visitors experiences.
