Buzeki is not the person we need in charge of KCCA—Ssemakadde

Incoming KCCA Executive Director, Sharifah Buzeki.

The President of the Uganda Law Society (ULS), Isaac Ssemakadde, has said that Sharifah Buzeki, the newly appointed Executive Director of the Kampala Capital City Authority (KCCA), is “not the kind of person we need in charge of KCCA.

Buzeki’s appointment was announced by the Presidency on Thursday.

She will be deputized by Benon Kigenyi.

“Can’t believe it,” wonders Ssemakadde.

According to Ssemakadde, “She was a disaster in her handling of the Dr. Stella Nyanzi case, breaching Makerere University policies.”

Buzeki was the Commissioner of Human Resource Management in the Ministry of Public Service. Dr. Nyanzi was a lecturer at Makerere University.

“Zero leadership qualities, reckless and unfair,” adds Ssemakadde.

By the time of her appointment, Buzeki was the Commissioner, HR, in the Ministry of Local Government. Her deputy, Kigenyi, is the current undersecretary in the Ministry of Gender, Labor, and Social Development.
