Uganda is again set to host a high level Energy convention 2025 which aims at bringing together oil, gas and minerals sector players to discuss key policy and legal regulatory framework challenges as well as seek new opportunities for the growth of the lucrative sector.
The development came to light during a news conference hosted by the Uganda chamber of energy and minerals [UCEM] at Sheraton hotel at which the chairman Governing council Mr. Aggrey Ashaba made important convention revelations to the country.
Ashaba noted that the highly billed convention shall run between April 29th-30th 2025 under the theme ‘’Integrating Oil and Gas in Renewable Energies’’ at Serena hotel at which sector players alongside government shall discuss key policy and regulatory framework challenges affecting the sector’s growth agenda.
He called upon the stakeholders to work with the chamber by registering ahead of time such that they can be part of the many listed side way mini conferences discussing different themes as well as participating in product exhibitions among other key activities.
Ashaba, reaffirmed the Chamber’s commitment to amplifying private sector participation across the energy value chain.
On his part, the UCEM CEO Humphrey Asiimwe said the private sector remains a key driver in creating employment opportunities within Uganda’s energy sector and that as the Uganda Chamber of Energy and Minerals (UCEM), they are dedicated to positioning themselves where the government intends to invest, to unlock and harness the sector’s full potential for the good of the sector.
Asiimwe encourages the public to book up and ensure they are part of the upcoming convention given the many enormous benefits it brings both into the country and sector at large.
They collectively thanked the government through their mother ministry of energy and mineral development for the continuous support rendered to the chamber saying they strongly appreciate such gesture and urged the public to support the energy and mineral sector growth agenda for the common good of Uganda.
