UWA Secures Entebbe Botanical gardens after illegal occupants peacefully vacate

The management of Uganda Wildlife Authority (UWA) has secured Entebbe Botanical Gardens after seeing off 45 former employees of the National Agriculture Research Organization (NARO) who have been residing there illegally for over two decades. The development followed the expiration of an eviction notice that was issued by the outgoing UWA boss, Sam Mwandha, who gave locals 14 days to vacate houses that occupy part of the land belonging to Entebbe Botanical Gardens.

The ceremony to see off the illegal occupants was presided over by Mr. David Musingo, the chief warden for Uganda Wildlife Education Conservation Center (UWEC) and regional satellite centers. 

Mr. Musingo noted that the move to evict illegal occupants from the staff quarters of Entebbe Botanical Gardens is intended to pacify the area such that it turns into one of the most admirable tourism centers in the country.

The botanical gardens has been a very dangerous area with so many thieves waylaying innocent people, especially late in the evening before terrorizing them.
