Dr. James Musinguzi, the Executive Director of the Uganda Wildlife Authority (UWA), has expressed his appreciation for the strengthening partnership between UWA and the Uganda Tourism Association (UTA).

During a meeting held on yesterday, July 22 at UWA’s headquarters, the two entities discussed their collaborative efforts.

Dr. Musinguzi underscored the significance of strategic cooperation with key tourism stakeholders, like UTA, to enhance the tourism sector’s contribution to Uganda’s National Development Plan.

He emphasized that the partnership should provide tangible benefits for both organizations and support the broader interests of Uganda’s tourism industry.

He expressed hope for a closer collaboration with UTA aimed at mutual growth and sector advancement.

Edwin Sabuhoro, representing UTA, presented a comprehensive overview of the association’s activities, achievements, challenges, and future plans, focusing on enhancing visitor experiences, research, and addressing human-wildlife conflicts.

UTA Chairperson Yogi Biriggwa thanked Dr. Musinguzi and the UWA management for their warm welcome and the opportunity for strategic engagement.

She acknowledged the partnership’s potential and reaffirmed UTA’s commitment to assisting UWA in reaching their shared goals.

Dr. Musinguzi encouraged UTA to collaborate on a joint research proposal to better understand consumer perceptions, service delivery gaps, product diversification, human-wildlife conflict patterns, and to gather timely feedback.

UWA also recommended UTA’s participation in the upcoming *Rhino Naming and Reintroduction Program, identifying it as a key initiative for joint efforts.
