LWENGO
The NRM election tribunal has upheld the victory for the Bukoto Mid-west County in Lwengo district by declaring and confirming that Emmanuel Kiyimba was elected honestly without controversy.
The tribunal on Friday said Kiyimba won the NRM flag for Bukoto Mid-West with 6,011 votes, defeating incumbent Isaac Ssejjoba, who came third with 4,890 votes. Saul Kamali Ssekindi was second with 5,145 votes. Ssejjoba plans to run as an independent, citing electoral irregularities.
The tribunal declared that Kiyimba was duly elected as the flag bearer for that constituency and that all the aggrieved parties should join him and canvass for votes for him as well as for their party presidential candidate Yoweri Kaguta Museveni come 2026.
Kiyimba’s lawyer Kandebe Ntambirweki told this website shortly after picking the results hard copy that he was satisfied with the tribunal’s verdict which effectively upheld the victory for his client saying it should be supported to continue with its mandate of sorting out elections malpractices which have badly tainted the NRM party in its recent history.
Kandebe congratulated the voters for their support and standing with Kiyimba until victory was proclaimed in their favor saying they should turn up in big numbers and vote for him during the forthcoming national elections.
Kiyimba while speaking to our reporter via phone thanked the tribunal for a good job done saying he was satisfied with the verdict and wishes them to continue handling election deputes without fear or favor to the satisfaction of justice.
The voters told this website via phone that the president did a good job for setting up the tribunal whose confidence has resulted in aggrieved parties getting justice without a fight.
