Sections of supporters of former NRM parliamentary flag bearer contestants for Mbale city woman MP slot Rita Namuwenge and Sarah Wasagali Kanaabi have reportedly joined the campaign team of Paul Mugoya Wanyoto to support and vote him for the Mbale Norther city Division member of parliament come 2026 general elections.
Both Dr. Sarah Wasagali and Rita Namuwenge came behind Lydia Wanyoto in the recent NRM primaries for Mbale city woman MP flag bearer.
Speaking to this publication Alex Maasa the head of Rita Namuwenge campaign task force said that his team have resolved to join hands and not only support but vote for Paul Wanyoto Mugoya come 2026 general elections.
“We have resolved to support a person who cares and understands the problems associated with the ordinary people and this is none other than Paul Wanyoto Mugoya” Maasa told us.
He said that Paul Wanyoto Mugoya has provided every village in Northern city Division with a tarpaulin of 100-seater with 100 plastic chairs to help the communities in times of need.

He said that a person who values and works for the community before being given a responsibility is the best person to send to parliament because he has passed the test to serve the local persons’ interests.
According to Alex Maasa, his candidate Rita Namuwenge has not yet decided on contesting for an independent ticket after losing the NRM city woman MP flag to Lydia Wanyoto Mutende whom he accuses of rigging the primary election.
However, he disclosed that his supporters have already joined the camp of Paul Wanyoto Mugoya to see that he wins the coming parliamentary election.
On the other side of Sarah Wasagali her supporters started looking for votes for Paul Wanyoto Mugoya as their next MP for Northern city Division of Mbale.
Speaking to this reporter Hassan Mangobe the head camp task force of Wasagali revealed that they have no problem supporting Paul Wanyoto Mugoya because he has passed the test to represent the voters of the Northern city division of Mbale.
“We have Denis Kiganda already from our Wasagali camp but coordinates some of the campaign activities of Paul Wanyoto , even so both camps have no problem since we shall all run as independents” Hassan Mangobe said.

He said that Dr. Wasagali has already declared to contest as independent candidate for Mbale city woman MP and therefore all independents would prefer moving together, traverse areas looking for votes in union and vote each other unlike NRM who are likely to remain with their flags in Mbale.
During the function of giving away Wasagali’s daughter at her Namabasa home, city lawyer Paul Mugoya donated a cow to the family and this impressed most supporters of Wasagali who from that time vowed to vote for a man with a good heart.

Mugide Jacklyne a resident of Salemu upper told this publication that she supports Sarah Wasagali and though she is NRM she will vote Paul Wanyoto Mugoay because he has helped the youth with sports supportive attires like team uniforms, balls to the youths and many other materials including cash to run the sports activities.
Mugide added that Paul Wanyoto Mugoya is always seen at the forefront during times of making marram road and apart from taking part in the activity he financially helps in grading of roads in Northern city division of Mbale.
