By Abraham Lincolns

Mbale City

The Muslim community in Mbale city furiously rejected and disowned former self- styled Resident City Commissioner for Kampala Capital City Authority Hudu Hussein, chasing him away from a Muslim burial ceremony in Mbale northern division.

Hudu made history of election drama, few moments captured the comedy and tragedy of Muslim sheikhs and youth demanding him to drop the microphone and move away from the venue.

The incident according to political annalists from Mbale recorded that it was a prophetic moment signalizing the 15th January parliamentary election results for the NRM flag bearer who was allegedly accused of manipulating results that were meant for Umar Nangoli, a person declared as a flag bearer before the tribunal overturned his victory in favor of Hudu.

The embarrassment was just enough punishment for Hudu though he tried to resist the background noise that was chanting Paul Mugoya Wanyoto’s name, an independent candidate as the best option to represent the people of Mbale Northern city  Division in the forthcoming elections.

“Get away, you are incompetent and violent. Wanyoto is the best alternative to take Northern division forward”, Sheikh Wesikhe shouted at Hudu .

GO AWAY MUSLIMS TELL HUDU HUSSEIN IN MBALE

According to the viral video on social media, the honourable gentleman had come armed with a fat bundle of doubtful messages as ever flipped through and disappeared faster than a boda fuelled with fake petrol.

The scene that followed was pure theatre: the master of ceremony started demanding for the microphone as the MP hopeful grabbed it back, and the crowd howling with laughter’s as the two wrestled for the mouthpiece. In the end, the MC triumphed, not in the polls, but in retrieving his beloved microphone as demanded by the voters.

Witnesses recall seeing Hudu rushing in his small Toyota Vitz car faster than mobile money confirmation ready for the next rally, something that left him cursing his Muslim brothers who chased him away like a chicken thief. It is said that Hudu was seen with a wiper carefully drying his eyes. We can’t really tell if he was shedding tears for the Muslim community to cough him out where he had the majority support unlike the Christian wing.

However, Hudu condemned what he described as “cowardly and shameful acts” aimed at silencing him by his rival Umar Nangoli saying they’re undermining the values of the NRM and the unity of Northern Division.

“You shouldn’t have humiliated me like that. Some people have tried to convince me to also mobilize and shut down Umar, but I have resisted,” he stated. “We will not descend into chaos. We must rise above intimidation and focus on our mission — transforming our communities,” Hudu said.

The former RCC said the disruption at the burial was orchestrated by Nangoli’s supporters in an attempt to embarrass him before mourners and local leaders.

However, Paul Mugoya Wanyoto condemned the act of chasing Hudu by the public but also asserted that sometimes the voters know that someone has nothing to present to them, he described the act as primitive politics instead of contenders addressing issues affecting the voters in terms of infrastructure, education, social-economic development and heath instead of confrontation politics .

“It’s unfortunate that my brothers Umar Nangoli and Hudu Hussein have resorted to primitive politics instead of competing on ideas. We believe in civility and fair competition not hooliganism and spreading hate”, Wanyoto said.

Hudu tried to shut up the voters by telling them that he resigned his RCC job to go and rescue his Northern division, and he will do it.

“I resigned my RCC job to come and rescue my Northern division here at my place and I know that those who are keeping quiet support me” Hudu tried stammering to the crowd that were throwing insults and shouting him to leave the place.

The race is comprised of giants fighting for Northern city division and they include MP   hopeful Paul Mugoya Wanyoto(Independent), Nangoli Umar (Independent), Hudu Hussein (NRM), incumbent MP Seth Wambede and NUP’s Ivan Masaba.
