From the Kifuuta Oracle Kyotera. Where we cook truth slowly, like beans on a sigiri, not in a microwave.
The wind blew. Gashumba spoke., Pastors flew.
And suddenly charcoal became the sin! As if charcoal is the devil that ate our forests. Abange mwe, let’s not lie to ourselves.
THE CHARCOAL BAN.
But who will ban HUNGER? Who will ban the landlord? Who will ban the school fees?
You want to ban charcoal when gas, electricity, petroleum are sleeping in the skies with the dollar? When a pressure cooker costs like a plot in Kyotera?
This timing? This timing is good for inconveniencing the pastors, but it is death for the ORDINARY as Gashumba wit keeps the ordinary at crossroads

THE TRUTH ON THE GROUND NOT ON TWITTER BUT IN THE VILLAGE
Go down. Not on X. On the ground, not Naguru press conferences. Go to Kisenyi, Katwe, Natete, Kyotera, Kalisizo, Rakai. Namisindwa, Rushere. A sack of charcoal 80k, 100k, 120k. Painful, yes, but Mama, Senga can hustle and buy. Gas? 13kg is 350k to buy the cylinder, 160k to refill. And the gas ends in two weeks if you cook beans. Yaka? Electricity? 20k finishes in two days when you cook katogo.
Petroleum? Dollar is at 3800+. Flying. Pressure cooker? 400k, 600k, 800k. For who? That cooker is sleeping in the skies with angels.
And you tell Mama Nalongo who is frying gonja by the roadside, “Sister, stop charcoal, use gas”? She will laugh and her children will sleep hungry. Her gonja needs slow charcoal fire, not electric lies.
Charcoal is not luxury in Uganda. Charcoal is SURVIVAL.
You cannot ban survival without giving people life. If you ban charcoal today without alternative, you are not saving trees you are cutting PEOPLE. You are raising the dead while the living is still hungry.
THE LIE WE TELL OURSELVES WHILE TREES CRY
Yes, forests are going. That is true. Buddu forests that were thick like hair in the 80s are now bald. True. But the crime is NOT the woman cooking with charcoal.
The crime is we planted trees and we sell them YOUNG without VALUE.
A man plants eucalyptus. 2 years later school fees knock he cuts everything for charcoal. 2 years! No timber value. No pole value. Just black dust. 10 acres that could be 200M in 10 years, we sell at 2M in 2 years because poverty is impatient. Poverty does not wait for trees to grow.

That is the storm. Akanakubako amenvugo
Gashumba’s wave keeps you at crossroads sleeping in slumbering muloota banange, why punish the poor for being poor, while big men cook on gas imported duty-free? If you want to ban charcoal, first bring the gas price down from heaven to Katwe. Bring electricity down. Bring pressure cooker down from the sky to Owino market. Otherwise, your ban is just convenience for pastors but a death sentence for the ordinary.
HOW THE WORLD KEPT CHARCOAL AND KEPT FORESTS WE ARE NOT THE FIRST TO COOK
The world did not ban fire. The world TAMED fire.
RWANDA, They Did Not Ban, They Became Wise. Rwanda said: You cannot cut natural forest like Nyungwe for charcoal. Jail. But if you planted your OWN forest on your hill, you can make charcoal with license, with improved kiln that gives 40% more charcoal from same wood. Result? Trees stayed. Charcoal stayed. People ate. Environment safe.
KENYA, The Briquettes Revolution from Trash to Cash. In Kenya, in Kibera, in Kisumu, women groups make charcoal without cutting ONE tree. How? Maize cobs, coffee husks, sugarcane bagasse, sawdust, banana peelings. They compress into briquettes. Burns LONGER than wood charcoal, no smoke, no tree cut. 1 ton per day from city waste. They kept charcoal and cleaned the city. Top juice!
ETHIOPIA The Stove That Saves Half a Forest. Ethiopia brought Mirt stove simple clay. Uses 50% less charcoal. One sack that lasted one week now lasts two weeks. They didn’t ban charcoal they reduced its appetite. One Jiko Bora = half forest saved. No police needed.
COLOMBIA & BRAZIL, Tree That Pays Twice. They plant trees not to kill, but to prune. You plant Musizi, Nkalati, Terminalia, Maesopsis fast growing. Every year you prune branches for charcoal, tree stays alive. After 7-10 years, tree becomes timber 500k to 1M per tree. One acre = 400 trees = 20 sacks of charcoal EVERY YEAR for 10 years + 200M timber at the end. That is VALUE, not young trees for 100k.
We don’t need CHARCOAL BAN. We need CHARCOAL COOPERATIVES. Charcoal that is licensed, sustainable, VALUABLE and employment for the youth, you chase them from road side hustle, ban charcoal with no alternative bantumwe.
THE KIFUUTA ORACLE WAY FOR BANTU, FOR ORDINARY, FOR GOVERNMENT
Don’t start with a ban. Start with ALTERNATIVE, I can volunteer 2 years of mass education if you oil my wallet, 2 years i will employ 1 million graduates and veterans to crusade this, SAVE THE FOREST BY NOT BANNING THE CHARCOAL
Subsidize gas like you subsidize fuel for government cars. Remove tax on gas cylinders and pressure cookers. Give every household a Jiko Bora improved stove for free like you gave mosquito nets. One Jiko saves 50% charcoal. That alone saves half the forest without beating Mama.
License charcoal from private forests. Ban cutting natural forests, yes but promote private forest charcoal.
FOR THE ORDINARY VILLAGE HUSTLER:
Don’t cut whole tree. PRUNE. COPPICE. Let it regrow like hair. Tree will give you again. Plant 10 trees for every sack you burn. We have land in Kyotera, in Buddu. Land is not refusing trees. Use improved Sigiri the one with clay inside that keeps heat. Cover your saucepan. Cook with lid. You save half charcoal. Make briquettes from your own waste banana peelings, coffee husks, cassava peels. Dry them, mix with small clay, compress. You have charcoal without buying.
FOR THE RICH MAN SELLING TREES YOUNG MY BROTHER:
You are eating the seed. Patience is wealth. A 2-year tree gives you 100k charcoal once. A 10-year tree gives you 20 sacks every year from branches + 1M timber at the end. Which is wisdom? Don’t sell young trees without value. Give me 2 years with a meaningful budget to teach the nation and not Naguru press conferences

LET THE LIVING LIVE, LET THE WIND SCAM THE STORM NO MORE
The wind will keep blowing. Gashumba will keep shouting. Pastors will keep flying because they can afford gas and tickets, kona kumutwegwo.
But let the living LIVE.
Let Maama in Kyotera cook beans on charcoal without fearing police will arrest her sigiri. Let the environment stay safe, clean, green not by banning, but by planting with sense.
The storm is not charcoal.
The storm is POVERTY.
The storm is expensive gas sleeping in the skies.
The storm is electricity that finishes like airtime.
The storm is a pressure cooker costing a salary.
Fix the sky, and the ground will heal itself.
Don’t leave the wind to scam the whole storm.
We plant. We prune. We press briquettes. We cook. We live.
That is sustainability.
That is Ubuntu.
That is Uganda.
That is extreme Planning to save both forests and Lives
The Kifuuta Oracle, where the charcoal still burns but the forest still stands. Kafuluma Bbale Buddu
