An 85-year old grandmother, Dinah Tindimutina has died in a nasty road accident, which also claimed the lives of her two grandchildren Caroline Kamusiime and Denis Muhangi. Also dead is another unidentified person.
Tindimutuna with her grandchildren were riding on a Bajaj Boxer Motorcycle registration number UET 738Q when it was run over by an Isuzu Elf truck registration number UBD 474F. The incident that happened at Kyakatwire Town Council in Kyenjojo. The boda boda rider Erias Tumuhereza was also killed in the same accident.
Rwenzori Regional Police spokeswoman, Lilian Tumushabe confirmed the incident, and said the scene had been visited by the In charge Traffic in the area, while bodies of the accident victims were taken to Kyenjojo hospital mortuary for postmortem. The errant driver, she said is on the run. She also confirmed that preliminary finding shows that the accident was as a result of over-speeding by the driver.
According to Tumushabe, inquiries Vide TAR 03/2019, are ongoing.
