Five men armed with an AK47 rifle will live to rue Wednesday morning, when they stormed the home of Edgar Rujumba at 2am in Triangle Zone, Central Ward, Njeru in Buikwe district.
On the compound were two vehicles, a Toyota Kluger and a Super Custom.
Unknown to the thugs, Rujumba was at the time viewing their moves through CCTV cameras, and as soon as they attempted to access the Kluger, he activated an alarm. This, according to detectives, sent the thugs scampering albeit without anything to show for their ‘effort’.
Regional Police spokeswoman, Helen Butoto confirmed the incident, and emphasised the role played by both the CCTV and alarm.
According to Butoto, investigators will now use the CCTV footage in the hunt for Rujumba’s attackers.
